					<description><![CDATA[Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.Ş. is the sole producer in the products of prestressed concrete wire and prestressed concrete strand in Turkey started producing PC wire in 1979. In 1986 by adding another product, PC strand to it. Our Company intends to transfer its leadership to foreign countries, notably to neighbouring countries, with the investments in 2009. 

PC strand with 7 strands that are used in the areas such as bridge girder production, prefabricated construction elements, ground and mine anchorages, nuclear power stations, silo constructions, housing constructions are produced according to the ASTM, BS, EN, TSE ve JIS standards. 

Primary advantages provided by PC Strand: 

Having high tensile strength.
Potential great prestressing in small edges.
Less need for anchorage and application labor.
What is Prestressing?
Prestressing is to apply constant stress artificially to structural components before applying external loads. For the prestressing concrete wires and strands in various dimensions, types and resistances, which are produced exclusively, are used.

Prestressing concrete steel elements are produced by taking stress from high carbon special wire rods with vanadium alloys after a distinct load and a regular patenting treatment.

In prestressed concrete structures the prestressing applied initially is decreasing in time due to warping and creep of concrete and relaxation of prestressing steels. Therefore, the characteristics of the steel defined as steel relaxation under constant length or loss of stress is one of the important parameters taking into consideration in designing of prestressed concrete structures.

Advantages of the products with lower relaxation:

More tensile and yield strenghts.
Super durability against fatigue and corrosion.
Consistent load elongation relation.
Super straightening feature.
Measures for Storage
Some of the measures have to be taken during the use of prestressing concrete steel :

Prestressing concrete steel is sensitive against intensive heat sources. Internal structure and mechanical features of steel may be changed if it is exposed to intensive heating.
Loading and discharging have to be made in minimum amounts and corrosion and pressure have to be avoided in order not to change mechanical features.
Coils have to be stowed over ground level and they have to be covered in a way that they allow a good air circulation in order to avoid condensation.

When latter become more important than abrasion, black (ungalvanized) ropes with fiber core 6x9 filler of paralel composition are also used. As corrosion is important especially in guy ropes, galvanized ropes with 6x24+7 fibre core may be preferable in this application. In the deck cranes, galvanized ropes with fibre core of 6x36 WS are more preferable. When the ropes in 6x19ST(1+6+12) ve 6x37 ST(1+6+12+18) composition which are called standart ropes are used in cranes serious risks might be arisen and the ropes might be broken instantly. Therefore, the ropes of this composition are unfavorable for cranes.

Ropes must be lubricated in regular basis. Crane ropes must be run out of gear for 1-2 hours before they are used to make sure wires falling into place. Especially in rotation resistance ropes shocks and crashes must be avoided and in short length usage edges that are cut must be oiled before process. The points defined in the section 1.2.10 of this catalogue regarding rotation resistant ropes must be taken into account in order to avoid possible problems that might be arisen before and during usage and to increase rope performance. ]]></description>
